Champagne’s Off-Broadway debut happened at NYC’s New World Stages at the long-running (and much-loved) Sutton Lee Seymour Show. As the guest host to her friend Sutton, she wowed the crowd and turned multiple looks. The crowd’s favorite moment of the night? Adding a little camp to a performance of Ivy Levan’s “Biscuit” by throwing biscuits into the crowd and her, quite impressive, closing “Circle of Life” number with Sutton and their impressive improvisation of humans for props to celebrate Earth Day!
When she was asked by Facebook to perform for their holiday party in NYC, Champagne went all out. With the chic Stage 46 as her backdrop and her gal pals Sutton Lee Seymour, Marty Thomas, and Summer Holmes at her side; she brought high-energy choreography, candy canes and cheer to the crowd. She even sang Happy Birthday (Mr. President) to a VP of Facebook dressed as the iconic Marilyn Monroe. By the end of the night, she proved that nothing helps you celebrate the holidays like some Champagne!
The School of Visual Arts, in conjunction with Australians in Film, presented a 20th Anniversary screening of the film “The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” preceded by a Q&A with the film’s director, Stephan Elliott, and Academy Award and Tony Award-winning costume designer, Lizzy Gardiner. Champagne had the privilege of working as a Gumby and certainly impressed!
